Instant Action still one of the best browser based First Person Shooters is loosing its exalted status of “The Dogs Bollocks” and fast becoming just bollocks. Time and time again we switch into FPS mode and go for a good game flying around lunar landscapes only to find……..Yep you’ve guessed it, stacked sides. Now we are all up for a good virtual punch up, note we said virtual, a passive sort of gamers us. But a good game is quickly spoilt when the sides are not even, you may as well not play which is exactly what we do. The game is quickly closed and visit at a later date when there are better players on board. Kind of what you would have thought the makers of Instant Action do not want, players leaving, don’t worry, as Arnie said most succinctly I’ll be back!!!. For a totally free browser based game they need to be attracting players. After all, the amount of work and effort that has gone into producing this awesome game and the publishers need a big congratulations for providing the globe with this game, but get rid of the side select on the shared servers. Just an opinion by the way.
Grepolis Free Browser Based Gaming
Grepolis a new game recently launched by Innogames based on the civilization concept lets you walk in the footsteps of the great Greek gods and other Greek heros. Your task is to build your own Polis, (Greek for town) into a massive metropolis. Create armys, trade with neighbours, make alliences and or go to war and conquer far off islands.
The English version started on the 14th January 2010 and being browser based there is no software to download nor do you need a high end computer to operate the game. Having built up your hometown, the player can focus on expansion and at this point the game offers several options to the user.
- Will you first take control over his own island and attack the neighbors settled there?
- Should he conquer the ocean and found more towns on other islands?
- Or would alliances with other polis be the smartest move?
The options open to the players are many.

Jack Army in Killing Spree
For all those First Person Shooter game freaks out there, Combat Arms a recent arrival on the games scene developed by Nexon is an awesome online combat game on similar lines to Call of Duty and Halo. In this totally free to play FPS, the action is non stop.
From fully customisable characters, Combat Arms provide over 30 real world guns and a variety of secondary weapons at your disposal with full modification to your arsenal of weaponry, to a Clan system where team games are organised and the battle for supremecy begins. To create a clan, the player needs a rank of SSG Staff Sargeant by gaining experience on the battle field. This is achieved completing different sections, ammassing kills and finishing the game, which has a time limit of around 15 minutes although experienced players get through much quicker. At the end of the game, your character is awarded points which go toward your experience level and in turn increases your rank.
Wizard’s Wize Words: If your character dies during battle stay in the game to get your experience points. If you leave the game during play these points will be lost and rank experience stays the same.
